I am not an expert. I am not a genius. I am not one of the lucky few. I am one of the many. I have had a decent education, an associates degree. I have studied geology and philosophy. I have worked for 20+ years in the food service industry. Now that I have told you all the reasons that I am not special let me tell you why I am starting this blog.
Sometimes we all need a moment, some time, to process what we see in the world around us. This will be my space to do just that. This will be where I work through whatever is on my mind at the time. No topic will be off limits. Politics, religion, economics, all aspects of the human condition are fair game. I always try to see things from all the angles that I can before I form a position. On the spectrum of political belief I am definitely more liberal than conservative, but I do not ascribe to any political party. I see the value in libertarian ideals of limiting the reach of government into our lives, but I also understand that unfettered capitalism leads to injustice on a scale that no American would want for their neighbors. This is the dichotomy that informs my thoughts. This space will be where I carry out this discussion with myself. We shall see where it takes me. That is all for now.
